The Huntington Creek Solar farm is developed in right in the heart of Utah, in Emery County. Emery County has traditionally been a pillar of Utah’s energy industry, thanks to the Huntington and Hunter power plants. The Huntington Creek Solar project will join these stations and help diversifying Utah’s energy mix by injection 240 megawatts of solar electric power into the local grid, enough to serve up to 66,000 households annually. Huntington Creek will have a 200 MWh battery storage component to enhance energy security and reliability. This solar farm site is set in an ideal portion of the state to serve the WECC market.
Over its lifespan, the project is anticipated to generate $35.9 million in additional property tax revenues. Additionally, the construction phase is expected to generate at least 200 good-paying jobs and stimulate economic growth opportunities for local businesses.
