The Lambs Draw Solar project is being developed in Decatur County, northwestern Kansas. Once operational, it will generate 270 megawatts (MW) of clean and renewable electricity, enough to power around 56,000 households annually. Lambs Draw will make significant contributions to Kansas’s Renewable Energy Standards (RES) and will provide job opportunities throughout construction and operations. It will also substantially increase local and state tax revenues. Lambs Draw is located within the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) transmission system. In August 2025, Decatur County approved agreements with the Lambs Draw project that will generate hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, funds that will be used to fund schools systems, law enforcement, critical services and improve local infrastructures. In December 2025, Doral Renewables announced that the project signed a major Power Purchase Agreement with one of the largest tech companies in the world. Upon completion, Lambs Draw Solar is expected to be one of the largest energy project in northern Kanas, The Lambs Draw Solar project is expected to begin construction in 2026.
