The Mackinaw Solar farm is developed in Tazewell County, right in the heart of Illinois. Upon completion, this project will generate 500 megawatts of clean, renewable electric power, enough to serve up to 72,500 households annually. The 3,000-acre solar farm site is set in an ideal portion of the state to serve multiple markets in either the PJM or MISO. This project will help advance Illinois’ ambitious climate goals by injecting significant portion of renewable electric power into the grid.
